The Spring Diamonds quilt is created using half square rectangles. It is a modern design that leaves a significant amount of negative space.The fabric diamonds are made with spring themed fabrics that include birds, butterflies and flowers. The backing fabric is a soft green fabric with small printed circles. The quilting is done with a very light green thread. The diamonds are outlined with straight lines to echo the shapes. The diamonds are then quilted in the interior with various free motion and ruler work fills. In the negative space the missing diamonds have been ghost quilted in. the binding is a solid navy fabric. This quilt is rectangular and measures approximately 58 by 68 inches.
